About Marlee
Native to a small town in Georgia, the importance of community, compassion and interconnectedness was instlled in Marlee Archer's upbringing. This foundation is reflected in her professional mission of uncovering and expressing new truths in impactful, engaging stories in hopes of inspiring change, understanding and knowledge-seeking in her local community, as well as on a national and global scale.
As a freelance writer, Archer has experience in journalism, public relations, digital media and event coordination. She serves as a regular contributor for news platforms such as The Signal, Georgia State's Independent Newspaper, and online magazine publications such as Chispa Magazine. She is also a contracted communications writer for Shaw Industries, the largest flooring company in the world, and previously, a lead tutor at Georgia State's Journalism Writing Center. In these roles, Archer has experience writing and creating engaging social and digital media stories in the areas of local breaking news, professional and scholastic advancement, human right's issues, fashion, health and wellness, travel, community outreach, city infrastructure and development and neighborhood revitalization.
Archer earned her master's degree in Communication from Georgia State University (2015), and her bachelor's degree in English from Savannah State University (2011).
